Program: Family Support (Personal Support Services)

Direct Services Offered

Community Living Support, Dental Services, Medical Care, Specialized Clothing, Recreation/Leisure Activities, Specialized Nutrition, Supplies, Homemaker Services, Transportation and any other support services.

Population Served

Individuals 3 years and older with Developmental and/or Intellectual Disabilities living within a family unit.

Program Goals/Outcomes

Reduce hospitalizations, increase community tenure, reduce disruptive behavior, and support job stability.

Family Support services aims to:

  1. Keep families together until the individual with a disability chooses to live independently,
  2. Enhance a family’s ability to meet the many needs of the family members with a disability,
  3. Improve the quality of supports to families while minimizing the need and cost of out-of-home placement to allow families to participate in recreational and social activities and,
  4. Make a positive difference in the life of the person with a disability and in the lives of all family members.
