The individual in this role will serve as Nurse Manager in the Crisis Stabilization Unit. The focus of this program is to provide inpatient, crisis services that supports individuals experiencing a mental health and/or substance abuse crisis. The CSU is utilized for individuals undergoing an acute crisis that presents a substantial risk of imminent harm to self or others. The goal is to stabilize the individual through nursing and behavioral supports on a time-limited basis. The Nurse Manager supervises approximately 30 employees in the 24-hour facility. The Nurse Manager is responsible for collaborating with senior management to amend and implement updated policies and procedures in accord with DBHDD and CARF regulations, maintaining staffing, scheduling, training and certification, and payroll for all employees in CSU, maintaining general workflow of all CSU staff, overseeing pharmacy operations and student clinical rotations. The Nurse Manager is expected to promote the efficacy of Middle Flint Health and Wellness services by communicating with key stakeholders and Senior Management Team members. The employee in this position manages the daily workflow of the unit and remains on call 24/7 to manage unit issues after office hours. The Nurse Manager is able to work in all roles in CSU within scope of practice and may be required to cover vacant shifts if indicated. The Nurse Manager manages performance and communicates with staff on an ongoing basis regarding standards of practice, standards of care, respect for people and department/organization policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager develops measurable and reasonable goals in collaboration with staff, providers and leadership and identifies progress towards those goals on an ongoing basis with measurable outcomes and The Nurse Manager plays a key role in all unit audits, inspections, and evaluations from governing bodies. They are required to take the key leadership role in implementing recommendations and policies by governing bodies and work closely with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer as indicated.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from accredited institution preferred or Associate’s degree in nursing from accredited institution with two or more years in a Managerial/Supervisory leadership role. Active, unrestricted RN licensure in state of Georgia. Valid, unrestricted Georgia Driver’s License. Current AHA CPR and First Aid Certification. Must be computer literate.
Preferred Requirements: Two years of experience working with individuals with Behavioral Health and Substance use disorders.
